What is the difference between a point transition and an end-of-segment transition?
End-of-segment transitions are created by overlapping the footage of two different segments. It doesn't matter which source these segments belong to. With this type of transition, there is no loss in the video or audio stream.
Point transitions are placed on the timeline of your source file. You don't need to create a time range (segment) to add these effects. With effects such as 'Fade to White' and 'Fade to Black', there is no loss in the video or audio stream. However, some other effects may involve small losses. The main reason for this is that some effects, such as "Slide Left, Slide Right", require an 'A' and a 'B' image.
